1969 MGB ROADSTER

Just arrived, preparation commenced
Last owner for 32 years; restored in 1993; lightly used since and always garaged; a pretty MGB Roadster that has been much loved and used with loads of character at an attractive price.
This MGB Roadster is a factory-original right-hand-drive (RHD) model intended for the domestic market, manufactured during the 3rd February and the 21st March 1969.
It was subsequently dispatched to the MG dealership, Phil Read Limited, Toruay, Devonshire on the 24th March 1969.
The car was finished in Mineral Blue with Black Trim and Black Hood.
It came equipped with Wire Wheels, Heater and Packaway hood.
This MGB Roadster still proudly displays its original factory-issued registration plate, bearing the distinctive identifier PUO 476G. Included within the car's history file is a British Motor Museum Heritage Certificate, affirming the aforementioned details. This certificate serves as a tangible validation of the vehicle's provenance.
This pretty MGB Roadster has had just one owner since 1992. Little is known about the early history of the car, but it is clear from paperwork on file that in 1993 it had a substantial restoration was carried out, being stripped to a rolling shell.
The bodywork had various new panels, including inner and outer sills, outriggers, wheel arches, full o/s rear wing and half the n/s rear wing, full o/s floorpan and boot sections.
New springs were fitted front and rear; many seals and hoses were replaced; all five wire wheels were sandblasted and repainted; the crackle finish dashboard was renewed; the seats were rebuilt and given new leather covers; a new windscreen was fitted and it also got a new Moto-Lita woodrim steering wheel.
No doubt more work was done for which there are no invoices, and there is no evidence of any significant work done since. The MOT history online shows that it has only covered around 4,600 miles since 2006, the odometer currently showing 28,096 miles, although it has only done about 80 miles since the last MOT was issued in November 2022.
The four speed non overdrive gearbox is smooth, the lack of overdrive has not stopped the car being used for long distance touring, it manages absolutely fine without. PUO 476G is a much loved and used car with loads of character, it has proven reliability, it presents nicely and is great fun on the open road and has been garage stored.
