Spanking 997 Generation of 911 in exciting Carrera 4 S guise featuring the potent 3.8 litre flat six engine developing 355Bhp (as against 321Bhp of the non-S 3.6 litre version) and a useful 400NM of torque driving all-4 wheels in this car via 6-speed manual transmission.

Finished in desirable Basalt Black (LC9Z) the car looks the business with its 19-inch OZ alloy wheels and Sports exhaust. The options code inside the service book shows the car to have been specified with black leather interior with 19inch Turbo 3.6 wheels (404) - no longer fitted, rear window wiper (424), automatic speed control (454), top-tinted windscreen (567), Navigation Europe (610), Park Assist (635), phone module for PCM (666), Navigation module for PCM (670), Bose sound system (680), CD changer (692), leather rear seats (936), leather dashboard and door panels (981) and leather front seats.

The history file includes the V5C showing 6-former keepers to our vendor, a Porsche collector who’s owned it from May 2017, the owner’s pack and service book showing it was supplied by Porsche Centre Bolton revealing 8 stamps, the last in April 2021 at 65,018 miles by Welsh Porsche Specialists. In addition, the book contains a further 7 stamps for brake fluid changes, 3 stamps for long life condition reports and 3 for airbag checks.

The file also includes a file of invoices for routine maintenance including a recent £1,024 spend on air conditioning works in July 2021, purchase receipt dated May 2017 at 49,691 miles for £34,990 from Cameron Sports Cars of Bath, an Independent Porsche specialist who also carried out the last documented service in 2019 at 58,854 miles costing £623. With regards the MOT, we see 9 old MOTs plus the current valid until October 2022 with 4 advisories for brake disc wear. The file also includes a selection of original Porsche hard back sales brochures.

In March 2022 a major service including new brakes, discs, and tyres was carried out by Dave Griffiths Racing, Porsche Shrewsbury at a cost of £10, 207. 54.

A smart Gen 1 example, with critically, the later IMS bearing which solves the bearing failure issue as detailed by the Porsche workshop manual and Porsche Owners Club which suggest later 997.1 cars post engine number 68509791 have the larger revised IMS – this example looks to have the later engine and as such the revised IMS.
