Today we were pleased to receive a Christmas card in the post from one of our long-term social media followers, Peter Napier. It was a thoughtful surprise and very much appreciated.
Inside the card, Peter included a message describing the festive scene he had painted — a wonderfully imaginative local Christmas moment blending railways, classic cars, and seasonal cheer:
"This year sees Santa delivering presents to a cottage by the side of the Severn Valley Railway at Hampton Loade in Shropshire. Santa's reindeer seem a little confused as Santa was supposed to be delivering presents by rail hence the Class 50 diesel but instead decided to drive himself around in this Triumph TR6"
The artwork neatly reflects Peter’s creativity, bringing together a festive scene with familiar transport and a strong sense of place, with the Triumph TR6 taking centre stage — fittingly, our best-selling car model of the year by some margin. Thoughtful gestures like this are always appreciated and mean a great deal to everyone at The Forge.
Thank you, Peter, for thinking of us and for sending this special Christmas card to us. You are always welcome to visit us at The Forge, and we hope to catch up with you during 2026.
