At Forge Press, we often say that classic cars carry stories—but every so often, one comes full circle in a truly extraordinary way.
We recently had the pleasure of supplying a stunning 1972 Mimosa Yellow Triumph TR6 to Paul Shepherd in Nottinghamshire. What began as an exciting new purchase quickly turned into something far more meaningful.
Shortly after taking delivery, Paul made an incredible discovery—the very same TR6 he had just purchased was, in fact, a car he had previously owned back in the early 1980s.
A reunion over 40 years in the making.
Paul shared his experience with us:
“Just a note to say thank you for the way Forge Press handled the sale of the Triumph TR6 to me. It was a delight to deal with you—from the detailed descriptions, photos, and videos to the in-depth history files, which meant I was able to complete the entire purchase online with confidence.
The car was delivered on time, directly to my doorstep, and was exactly as I had expected. The preparation and detailing were completed to a very high standard, and I am more than happy with the whole experience. I would certainly recommend Forge Press to others.
The icing on the cake is that the TR6 turned out to be my old car, which I sold back in 1984—unbelievable!
Many thanks again.”
Stories like this are a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. Classic cars are more than machines—they are part of people’s lives, holding memories that can resurface decades later in the most unexpected ways.
We’re delighted to have played a small part in reconnecting Paul with such a special piece of his past, and we wish him many more happy miles ahead with his TR6.
