One of the great joys of working in the classic car world is the camaraderie and mutual respect shared among fellow enthusiasts and professionals. The kindness and support offered by like-minded businesses in this sector never fails to inspire – and we've recently experienced another perfect example.

We recently acquired a show-winning, standard 1968 MGC GT – a car that immediately turned heads here at The Forge. However, when the car arrived, it sadly lacked any substantial paperwork or supporting history, which is always a challenge when trying to build a complete provenance file for such a special vehicle.

Not wanting to leave any stone unturned, we carried out some research and discovered that the car had, not long ago, been in the expert hands of Holmes Racing for a full restoration.

A quick phone call to Shaun Holmes, the owner of Holmes Racing, resulted in something truly brilliant – Shaun not only provided a full overview of the restoration work carried out, but also kindly shared a range of photographs documenting the entire process.

This kind of professional generosity is what makes the classic car industry such a rewarding place to be. Shaun, thank you – your support has made a real difference in helping us showcase this car’s story.

The quality of the restoration is outstanding – a testament to Holmes Racing’s skill and passion. In fact, it’s fair to say that your racing pedigree has left its mark on this MGC GT, which drives and presents every bit as well as it looks.

We encourage anyone with an interest in quality restoration and classic car performance to check out the fantastic work being carried out by Shaun and the team at Holmes Racing:👉 www.holmesracing.co
