A Standout MGB GT Arrives at The Forge – Finished in Daytona Yellow

We’re pleased to welcome this 1980 MGB GT, finished in Daytona Yellow, to The Forge Prees Classic Cars.
The car presents well in its bright yellow paintwork, complemented by a black interior with yellow piping and contrasting yellow stitching. It also features chrome bumpers in place of the rubber bumpers originally fitted to later MGB models, giving it a more traditional appearance.
The car benefits from a substantial programme of reconditioning carried out in 2022 by its previous owner, a local gentleman who had retired from running a body shop. The work covered various aspects of the car, and a photographic record provides an insight into the project as it progressed.
The history file includes invoices for parts and materials totalling almost £4,000, excluding the labour involved. The engine, gearbox and running gear have also been reconditioned, adding to the record of work undertaken.
The MGB GT remains a popular choice among classic car enthusiasts, thanks to its familiar British sports car styling and practical hatchback coupé design. It offers an enjoyable way to experience classic motoring, whether on local drives or longer journeys.
This Daytona Yellow example is now at The Forge and will be serviced and supplied with a fresh MOT ahead of sale.
