Today we were pleased to welcome this beautiful 1966 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 2+2 to The Forge Prees.
While every classic car that arrives through our doors is special in its own way, occasionally one comes along that means a little more.
For me, this E-Type is one of those cars.
My Dad was the person who introduced me to classic cars from an early age and gave me the passion that eventually became The Forge. Like many enthusiasts of his generation, he loved Jaguars — and I know without question he would have absolutely loved seeing this car arrive here, and even more so, getting behind the wheel of it.
As The Forge continues to grow and the cars we’re fortunate enough to handle become increasingly special, there are moments when I wish he were still here to share them with me. Cars like this remind me that classic motoring is about far more than paintwork, horsepower, or values. They carry stories, memories, and connections to the people who inspired our passion in the first place.
The Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 2+2 has long been regarded as one of the most iconic British sports cars ever built, combining elegant styling with genuine touring capability. Seeing one arrive at The Forge is always an occasion — but this particular car felt especially meaningful.
Some cars simply stay with you.
This one would definitely have made him smile.
