Just arrived and currently undergoing preparation at The Forge is this exceptional Triumph Spitfire 4 Mk I — a rare, right-hand-drive UK home-market example finished in striking Signal Red with black Ambla upholstery and complemented by its desirable factory red hard top.
First registered on 10th April 1964 in Dundee, this early car from the renowned Triumph Motor Company spent much of its early life in and around London before being laid up for an extended period.
Thankfully preserved, it was later rescued and subjected to an exacting nut-and-bolt restoration to full concours standard, completed with no expense spared. The restoration formed part of the esteemed collection of Anthony Hamilton, father of seven-time Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton. Accompanying the car is a superb hardback book comprehensively documenting the restoration process in photographs.
Importantly, the original green logbook remains with the car, confirming that it retains its original registration number, RTS 749. Having covered just 650 miles since completion, it runs and drives exactly as it should and remains in outstanding condition throughout. The accompanying Heritage Certificate confirms this is a matching-numbers example.
A rare and highly collectible early Spitfire, representing an exceptional opportunity for the serious Triumph enthusiast — and a car to be truly proud to own.
Further details will follow as preparation continues, and early enquiries are warmly invited.
