Today, we welcomed this charming 1969 MGB GT to The Forge, arriving as a part-exchange against a freshly restored 1970 MGB Roadster.

Finished in British Racing Green, the car is complemented by black leather seats piped in white, giving it a particularly smart and period-correct appearance. It is also nicely specified, with 15-inch knock-on-style Minilite wheels, an overdrive gearbox, unleaded cylinder head, electronic ignition, Webasto sunroof, Revotec electric fan and an oil cooler.

The MGB GT made the journey to The Forge under its own steam, covering almost 100 miles faultlessly in the summer sunshine. That trouble-free drive is perhaps no surprise, given the car was only prepared for sale by South Norfolk Classics in June this year, when it received a fresh service and MOT, with the latter valid until June 2027.

The car has also benefited from a number of recent mechanical improvements, including a fresh set of parabolic springs, shock absorbers and polybushes fitted earlier this year. These additions, alongside the car's existing upgrades, make this a particularly usable example of the MGB GT.

Little is known about the car's earliest years, but the history file contains documentation dating back to 1993 and continuing through to the present day. The records suggest that the GT has been well cared for and regularly serviced throughout its documented history.

The car underwent a sympathetic restoration during 2011/12, which has undoubtedly played a significant part in the way it presents today. The restoration has been carried out with usability and character in mind rather than creating an over-restored example, and the results are very pleasing.

The paintwork remains in great condition, with only a few age-related marks, while the interior is also in very good order. Many original features remain, including the original steering wheel, adding to the character of the cabin.

The body and chassis appear to be in very good order, with the chassis having been wax-oil protected. Mechanically, the car also appears to be in good condition and, following its recent preparation and improvements, is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.

A very smart, usable and well-equipped MGB GT with a sympathetic restoration, a useful history file and a great combination of classic character and modern usability.
