We are delighted to welcome this fast-road prepared 1971 Triumph TR6, finished in New White with a black interior and black hood. This is without doubt one of the quickest TR6 road examples we have driven in recent times, and a true driver’s car, offering exceptional performance accompanied by a magnificent and highly addictive soundtrack.

Manufactured on 12th October 1970, the car was first supplied through the Triumph Management Car Plan by Triumph dealer in Allesley, Coventry. This right-hand-drive, original home-market example retains its original VIN, engine, body, and registration numbers. Factory specification included New White paintwork, black interior trim and hood, heater, laminated windscreen, wire wheels, black tonneau cover, Dunlop SP Sport tyres, petrol injection, overdrive, seatbelts, wing mirrors, and a radio.

While the car remains largely faithful to its original build specification, it underwent a comprehensive rebuild over ten years ago and has since benefited from a number of well-chosen fast-road upgrades. These include a Phoenix stainless steel exhaust system, four Spax adjustable dampers, and polybushing throughout, all contributing to its sharp, engaging driving experience.

Today, this TR6 presents beautifully as a well-maintained older restoration. The chassis remains strong, panel gaps are good, and the paintwork is very well presented, retaining a sharp finish with only minor age-related blemishes. The white bodywork is complemented by a black pinstripe and black TR6 rear quarter panel decals.

The black mohair hood is in excellent condition, having recently benefitted from a new rear window along with fresh black dye and a waterproof coating. Front and rear chrome work is superb, including the wing mirrors, door handles, fuel cap, and front bumper-mounted spotlights. The exterior is further enhanced by a set of new 16" Minilite-style alloy wheels fitted with Yokohama C.Drive 2 tyres (195/65 R15 91V), along with a large-bore 2.5" Phoenix stainless-steel exhaust system.

The interior is particularly attractive, featuring black carpets and door cards, along with a black crackle-finish dashboard housing refurbished temperature, oil pressure, fuel, ammeter, rev counter, and speedometer dials, all finished with chrome bezels. The odometer currently shows 93,043 miles. A 14" three-spoke steering wheel is fitted, along with a new Sony CD radio and speaker set. Additional switches control the Kenlowe fan and front fog lights, and the car is also equipped with overdrive.

The black high-back reclining seats are in outstanding condition and offer excellent comfort. Inertia-reel seat belts are fitted, along with a new set of black sun visors. The inside of the hood is also very clean and well presented.

The boot area is equally impressive, trimmed with black carpets and a boot shelf, and complete with a working boot light. It houses a newly refurbished steel spare wheel, jack and wheel wrench, as well as the original black hood cover with white piping.

Under the bonnet, the engine bay is clean and very well presented, featuring a triple Weber carburettor conversion along with a number of tasteful upgrades that immediately catch the eye. These enhancements not only add visual appeal but also contribute to improved performance and drivability, completing what is a very well-sorted and highly desirable TR6.

Overall, this TR6 represents a very well-sorted example that combines the character of a classic British sports car with thoughtful upgrades and excellent presentation throughout. With its strong chassis, attractive older restoration, appealing interior, and enhanced performance from the Weber conversion and stainless exhaust, it delivers a rewarding and confidence-inspiring driving experience. On the road, it feels every inch an enthusiast’s car — full of character, engaging to drive, and sounding every bit as good as it looks.
