1973 Triumph TR6 PI – A True Driver’s Example

We are delighted to welcome this 1973 Triumph TR6 PI, a genuine driver’s car with a documented history dating back to the early 1990s, when it was extensively restored by TR Sports Cars UK. Since the restoration, the car appears to have been sparingly used, showing a current mileage of just 27,150 miles, supported by MOT certificates dating back to 1997.

Exterior:
Finished in Pimento Red with a black pinstripe, this TR6 presents beautifully and has clearly been cherished since its restoration. The bodywork has held up extremely well, with only a few minor age-related marks to note. The panels remain straight and true, and the paint retains an impressive gloss finish.

The black mohair hood is in superb condition inside and out, with clear, unmarked rear screens. The brightwork throughout—including bumpers, mirrors, headlight surrounds, door handles, fuel filler cap, and wheel trims—remains excellent, shining brightly and complementing the car’s vivid exterior.

The car sits on a set of original 16-inch steel wheels, which appear to have been recently refurbished and are finished with fresh chrome rims. They’re wrapped in BF Goodrich tyres (195/65 R15), all showing good tread depth. Black TR6 decals on the rear quarter panels and Union Jack badges complete the period look, along with original number plates.
Overall, the exterior presents superbly and reflects the quality of its earlier restoration and careful ownership.

Interior:
Inside, the car offers a smart and comfortable black interior. The carpets are in excellent condition and protected by a new set of TR6-branded overmats, with additional rubber mats included.

The seats have been upgraded to adjustable Mazda MX-5 seats, offering superior comfort and support. These feature integrated headrest speakers (currently unconnected) and are in excellent condition.

The mahogany wood dashboard adds a touch of timeless elegance, housing a full suite of cream Smiths gauges—including ammeter, oil pressure, fuel, temperature, rev counter, speedometer, and clock. A modern digital radio has been tastefully installed, supported by front and rear speakers and a set of tweeters.

A 14-inch black leather Moto-Lita steering wheel and Triumph Sports Six wooden gear knob provide a classic finishing touch, making the cabin an enjoyable place to spend time. Additional features include a three-speed electric fan, immobiliser, wind deflector, and seat belts.

Boot:
The boot area is neatly carpeted and features a working boot light, boot shelf, and a spare wheel with jack and wrench, all properly stowed.

The engine bay is body-coloured, detailed, and very clean—clearly maintained to a high standard. The last owner invested heavily, £7.5k in upgrading the mechanical performance of the car, resulting in a wonderfully responsive and engaging drive.
