The restoration included the installation of a MkII 2-litre engine built to Ivor Searle Stage 2 specification, along with a new gearbox and ‘J’ Type overdrive. The car was further enhanced with a stainless steel six-branch manifold and shotgun sports exhaust, upgraded suspension including new springs, bushes and adjustable dampers, as well as refurbished and detailed original suspension components. Braking was improved with new components and Goodrich hoses, and a swing spring conversion was fitted to the rear.
The body received extensive attention with new door skins and lower rear panels, followed by a bare metal respray. The exterior is complemented by refurbished or renewed chrome trim and badges, a mohair hood with zip-out rear window and hood cover, Inside, the car benefits from a a Motolita leather-rim steering wheel, period-style Corbeau leather seats, and new black fitted carpets. An Aldon electronic ignition system completes the mechanical upgrades from the restoration period.
More recent improvements continue to enhance the usability and presentation of the car. In 2015, soundproofing was added to the floors, doors and bulkheads, while the original 1960s Dunlop LP923 steel wheels were refurbished and powder coated, accompanied by new black and silver number plates. In 2020, a fully insulated fibreglass gearbox cover was installed, along with new leather gaiters and a revised overdrive switch relocated beneath the dashboard in an MGB-style configuration.
Further work in March 2024 included the installation of a Coolex aluminium radiator with black silicone hoses, stainless fittings, a new water pump and aluminium housing, as well as K&N pancake air filters, with the original filter assembly retained. Additional details include an original 1960s full tonneau cover, updated dashboard fittings.
