1974 Triumph Stag Receives Fresh Underside Protection at The Forge

This morning, the team at The Forge completed the underside cleaning and protection of a charming 1974 Triumph Stag, ensuring this classic British grand tourer is well prepared for many more miles on the road.

The process began with a thorough clean of the chassis, removing accumulated dirt and debris before allowing the vehicle to air dry completely. Once dry, we carefully inspected the underside and removed any loose or deteriorated sections of the existing underseal.

Areas requiring additional protection were then treated with fresh Gravitex underbody coating, with particular attention paid to vulnerable sections such as the wheel arches. This helps restore a consistent protective barrier and provides added defence against road debris and moisture.

The final stage involved the application of Lanoguard chassis protection treatment across the underside. Renowned for its corrosion-resistant properties, Lanoguard creates a protective coating designed to help preserve the vehicle's chassis and underbody components for the future.

Underside protection work is undoubtedly one of the messiest carried out in the workshop. However, the transformation is always rewarding, and there is great satisfaction in knowing that another classic vehicle has received the care and protection it deserves.

With its underside now cleaned, protected, this beautiful 1974 Triumph Stag is ready to hit the road again.
