A Celebrity in Our Showroom: Ex-Derek Mathewson Triumph TR6 PI Arrives at The Forge

It’s not every day a classic car with celebrity credentials arrives at The Forge – but this week, something rather special rolled in.

We’ve just taken delivery of a stunning 1973 Triumph TR6 PI, purchased from a local Triumph enthusiast. As always, we began compiling a detailed history file for the car… and that’s when we uncovered a rather exciting surprise.

Among the paperwork was the name Derek Mathewson – renowned founder of Mathewsons Auctions and star of the hugely popular TV show Bangers and Cash. Yes, this very TR6 was once owned by Derek himself.

Given Derek’s reputation for knowing his classics inside and out, it’s no surprise that this TR6 has been cherished throughout its life. The car remains in fantastic overall condition – a true credit to Derek and all of its previous owners.
