Back in April, we waved goodbye to our stunning, mega-spec 2001 Porsche 911 (996) Carrera 2 as it left The Forge for a new life with William from Stourbridge. A truly exceptional example of a modern classic, it’s always satisfying to see one of our hand-picked cars go to a great home—and even more so when it gets used as it should!
William recently got in touch to share an update that made us smile: in June, he and his son embarked on an epic road trip to Le Mans. Taking full advantage of the Porsche’s grand touring credentials, the father-and-son duo gave the car a proper blast—covering serious miles with smiles all the way.
We’re thrilled to report that the car performed flawlessly throughout, and that both William and his son are absolutely loving the experience. In fact, they’re already planning their next adventure—proof that cars like this aren’t just machines, but memory-makers.
William kindly sent us a fantastic photo of the 911 parked proudly at the Le Mans campsite, where it even found itself entered into a car show. It's a great reminder of what these cars are all about: performance, style, and unforgettable moments shared on the road.
Thank you, William, for the wonderful update. We’re so pleased the car is bringing you joy—it really is a mega example. Here's to many more miles and memories ahead!
