Final preparation is now nearly complete on our 1969 MGB GT — a genuinely charming example that wears its years beautifully. This is a car full of character, presented in a well-chosen specification, thoughtful upgrades, and a reassuringly gentle mileage in recent years.
Originally restored in 2006, the car benefitted from a full body respray, new exterior chrome bumpers, interior overhaul, and an engine replacement at that time. The replacement engine was fitted with an unleaded cylinder head — a useful upgrade that makes everyday classic motoring that bit easier. Alongside that, it received the sort of enhancements that really complement the driving experience: factory overdrive, a set of Mini Lite-style alloys, and a wooden steering wheel that adds a touch of warmth to the cabin.
It comes with some supporting paperwork, including the V5C, British Motor Industry Heritage Certificate, driver’s handbook, restoration photographs, and a various invoices that chart its upkeep over the years — including more recent recommissioning and interior work in 2025.
Before sale, the MGB GT will be given a fresh service here at The Forge, and is supplied with a three-month warranty for added peace of mind. Priced at £12,995, this is an ideal opportunity to enjoy a proper British sporting classic that feels every bit as honest as it looks.
The car is now available for viewing at our Prees showroom, and we would warmly welcome enquiries.
