We’re excited to share a major milestone for The Forge—our first classic car sale overseas! And not just anywhere… this one went all the way to Canada!
When we first listed our concours 1949 Morris Minor Lowlight Tourer, I was thrilled to receive an enquiry within just a few hours. But that excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I realised the potential buyer was based in Canada. With no prior experience exporting classic cars, I could have easily backed away from the opportunity—but I’m so glad I didn’t.
Fast forward, and the stunning 1949 Morris Minor Lowlight Tourer now sits proudly among one of the most incredible car collections I’ve ever seen. What’s more, this experience not only resulted in a successful sale but also established a relationship with a serious classic car collector.
In the end, the entire export process was seamless, and I had nothing to worry about. In fact, this success gave us the confidence to explore more opportunities abroad, and since then, we’ve sold two more cars to North America!
This was a great learning experience for us, and it’s exciting to see The Forge expanding its reach beyond the UK. Who knows where the next classic will find its new home?
