A Visit to Grocott Heritage Centre – As Well As an All-Day Breakfast

As a small treat this month, we decided to hold our regular monthly meeting somewhere a little different — the Grocott Heritage Centre, located just a few minutes’ drive from our facility in Prees.

The Grocott Heritage Centre celebrates the remarkable 76-year history of local haulage and distribution giant Grocontinental. The exhibition space showcases a fascinating collection of memorabilia that charts the company’s journey over the decades.

Visitors can explore vehicles spanning the life of the business, along with historic photographs, documentation, and a detailed timeline that tells the story of how Grocontinental has grown into the company it is today.

Next to the exhibition you’ll find a café, The Old Piggery, which offers a welcoming space to relax with coffee and cake — or, as we enjoyed during our visit, an excellent all-day breakfast.

It was a great way to combine our monthly meeting with a chance to learn more about local history while supporting a fantastic community initiative. If you’re looking for somewhere interesting to visit locally, the Grocott Heritage Centre is well worth a trip.
